年末の新潟2days、両日とも充実していて良い年越しができたと思います。
ワークショップ第二弾はリズムにフォーカスした内容で、所謂ポケットと呼ばれる発音のポイント。これについて最近は科学的に解説する風潮があったりしむすが、視覚的に確認するのも悪くはありませんが、それだけでは実際に演奏はできません。身体に染み込ませないとリアルなポケットにはなりませんから。
そして誰も知らない本当のポケット意味、これを今回参加者の皆さんと理解、共有できたと思います。
自分が20年地道に研究してきたテーマですので皆さんと共有できたのは良かったです。
年越しジャムセッションも毎年恒例になり、なんと言っても年越しカウントダウンの直後全員で演奏するTake the A Trainはとても盛り上がります。新潟はDuke Ellingtonと深い繋がり、ゆかりがあるので当然と言えば当然！
という事で2025年も良い形で締めくくれました。

Both days of the two-day event in Niigata at the end of the year were fulfilling and I think we all had a great time ringing in the New Year.
The second workshop focused on rhythm, and the pronunciation point known as the pocket. There’s been a recent trend to scientifically explain this, and while checking it visually isn’t a bad thing, that alone won’t help you actually play. It won’t become a real pocket unless you let it sink into your body.
I think I was able to understand and share with all the participants the true meaning of pocket music that no one knows about.
It’s a topic I’ve been steadily researching for 20 years, so it was great to be able to share it with everyone.
The New Year’s Eve jam session has also become an annual tradition, and the most exciting part is Take the A Train, where everyone plays together right after the New Year’s countdown. Niigata has deep ties and connections to Duke Ellington, so it’s only natural!
So, 2025 has come to a good end.
We will continue to work hard in 2026, so please continue to support us!
