春で暖かく楽しいイメージの4月ですが寒暖差の激しい日々が続いてます。
こんな時期にまさにぴったりの曲が、先日の吉祥寺でのライブ演奏したスタンダードのSpring Is Hereですね。
多くの録音が残っている有名曲ですが、冒頭のトニックディミニッシュの憂愁な響が特徴的な曲です。
ビル・エヴァンスは♭Ⅵ7#9のコードを使ってたりしますが、いずれにせよ歌詞の内容にあった物悲しいサウンドを演出してます。
しかしながらタイトルのイメージとはほど遠く、相当暗い内容の歌詞です。
この人生の陰陽をしっかりと受け止めて歌にする人間の強さが素晴らしいと思います。
日々の日記や口語的な歌詞ではなく、深い意味を持つ歌詞のスタンダードというのは永遠に人の心に響くでしょう。

April is a warm and enjoyable image of spring, but the days with a large temperature difference continue.
The perfect song for this time of year is the standard Spring Is Here, which was performed live at Kichijoji the other day.
It is a famous song with many recordings, but it is characterized by the melancholy sound of the tonic diminished at the beginning.
Bill Evans uses the chords of ♭ Ⅵ7 # 9, but in any case, it produces a sad sound that matches the content of the lyrics.
However, it is far from the image of the title, and the lyrics are quite dark.
I think the strength of human beings who firmly accept the yin and yang of this life and sing it is wonderful.
